Dog Tip of The Day, December 10

Remove temptation. Don’t set your dog up for failure. You work hard to train them, and it is easier to keep them trained than to allow them to break good habits, then need to retrain them. I made a mistake today and let a plate of cat food up on the counter while I did something else. Needless to say, my trained German Shepherd, is big enough to eat that cat food right off of the counter. He did the same thing one time with a chicken breast, and he is supposed to be trained not to steal food.  They are still dogs and given a strong enough temptation like a plate of cat food, an unneutered, alpha male dog is going to do what dogs do.
