1947       The lowest temperature recorded in North America occurred on this day in Snag, Yukon, -83 Fahrenheit.

1972       Iran Blizzard, lasted seven days, 4000 people were killed, It is the deadliest snowstorm in history.

1996       An earthquake in Lijiang, Yunnan, China, 6.62 mag, 322 people were killed.
