1840 Great Natchez Tornado killed 317 people in Natchez, Mississippi, making it the second most deadly tornado in U.S. history.

1902    Mount Pelee eruption killed 29,000 people.

1930    Salmas Earthquake, the 7.1 Mw earthquake shook northwestern Iran and southeastern Turkey with a maximum Mercalli intensity of IX which is Violent. Up to 3000 people were killed.
