5/7/1713          Alexis Clairaut,            mathematician, child prodigy, his father was a math teacher which helped, Clairaut wrote a paper on four curves when he was twelve years old, he published a book on mathematics when he was 18, he was elected into the Academy of Sciences in 1731 even though he was below the legal age, his success led him to excess with his social affairs and women and he died at age 52 in 1765, his brother wrote on mathematics at age 9, but he died at age 12.

5/7/1909          Edwin Land,                inventor, co-founder of the Poloroid corporation, invented inexpensive filters for polarizing light, invented the Poloroid Land Camera in 1947, he died in 1991 at age 81.
