Science Birthdays, June 11

 

6/11/1842        Karl Linde,                   chemist, developed refrigeration and gas separation technologies, he died in 1934 at the age of 92.

6/11/1867        Charles Fabry,             physicist, discovered the ozone layer in 1913 along with Henri Buisson. He discovered an explanation for the phenomena of interference fringes. He died in 1945 at the age of 78.

6/11/1910        Jacques Cousteau,        He improved on the aqua lung which led to open circuit scuba gear. He produced more than 120 television documentaries, more than 50 books on oceanography and marine science. He died in 1997 at age 87.
